Pros:Room was OK. Location was OK
Cons:No soap or shampoo in the room when I went to get in the shower the first evening. It was in the room the second day. The motel charged my credit card on Thursday, PRIOR to arrival on Friday. When I checked in, I was charged for both Friday and Saturday (we stayed two nights) so I was charged for three nights instead of two. On Saturday morning when I discovered what had happened, I called the hotel to asked why. Instead of an apology for an error, I was told that this was their standard business practice and the double charged night should be credited back to my account in 3 to 5 days depending on my bank. This is not a practice that I have run into before but think that in a place like Monterey where the vast majority of guests are tourists, this is a good way to increase profits. You collect the extra nights fees and collect the interest on the money until you have to give it back.
