pick up wait time greater than 1 hour. I was asked to accept a pickup truck, I refused, and eventually I was assigned a car (tesla) that I really didn't want. The car was uncomfortable and took a lot of learning before I could drive it comfortably.

Was unable to extend rental - Toronto Pearson Hertz office locked the account and the contact center could not extend the rental when I had caught Covid and could not return on the original date. The number Hertz contact center gave me to call was continually busy - I called 98 times over 2 days with no luck. Contact center supervisor could put a message on the account but I was still charged a late fee which the returning agent did reverse. Also received the car with 1/8 of a tank of gas - had to find a gas station before I could travel and then of course could not return the car with the same amount of gas - too close to empty. This cost me the extra gas I had to leave in the tank.

Rented an EIGHT seater for 2 families. Showed up and was told they don’t have any EIGHT seaters, only 7. Ended up renting 2 vehicles with another company paying triple because I couldn’t plan accordingly.

When I arrived to the rental desk, there simply was no car for me to rent. I lost the Uber money (from Toronto to Thornill) and had to get another Uber (from Thornill to the Airport) to rent a car (in another company, naturally).

Found an old water bottle in the car so wasn’t cleaned very thoroughly but it’s a new car so wasn’t visibly dirty. Pick up and drop off was super easy, no hidden fees, accepted that I had insurance through my credit card and didn’t try and sell me any. Staff was kind.

Pros:

On May 2nd, I filled up the car at 8: 52 am at 537 Keele St west as the car needed to be filled up and I am required to show a receipt that I filled up the car as per the contract agreement. Please see attachment 3 for the receipt and proof of the time of filling up the car. At 9:00 am I returned the car. The same sign was on the door that said that the attendant was away for 15 minutes but unfortunately, I could not wait as I had an urgent appointment and I really need to leave on time. Since there was no one there, I had no choice but to leave the car. There are cameras all over the premise of this AVIS location that can verify I was there on time. I attempted to call the office to let them know I left the car, because I had an urgent very urgent appointment to get to. I finally received a call from AVIS at 9: 13 am, the same salesperson from this AVIS location called me and said that I left the car overnight and that it was damaged. This tells me that he was not there until that specific time or else he would have seen that I just returned the car and I have the receipt of when I filled up the car to prove it. I headed back to the location AVIS 3193 Dundas St W) at 9:19 am to try to figure out what had happened. The attendee insisted I was not there at 9 am. He then proceeded to demand I pay for the scratch on the car. The attendee continued to intimidate me and said that he would call the police, he also said that if I did not sign the documents that he would write down I refused to pay which would cause me even more money. I insisted that he provide me this paper work (which I have) and allow me time to review the paper work before signing anything. It was very hard for me to even ask for time to review the paper work, as he was extremely upset and I was in tears but I knew I had to review anything before signing it, given that he clearly already lied to me as I was clearly there at 9 am having just filled up the car. I have also attached a video of the car showing the front scratch and its significant damage that he said was ok before I even rented the car and also showing the back scratch that he says I caused although it was not there at 9 am when I returned the car.

The staff were friendly enough and did their jobs. I had a one way rental (pick up and drop off at different airports) and the car they gave me had out of date tags, snow tires in July that made a lot of road noise and a potential wheel bearing issue that made the car vibrate on the highway.

I booked through a third party. My car was supposed to be in terminal. It was not. I would’ve had to take a bus or taxi to pick up. Budget does not have shuttle service to off terminal rentals. I ended up paying $100 extra. Service was good and I was upgraded to a better vehicle. Budget was good. Third party booking was not so good.

How could I rent a service that I didn’t have access to? I mean I could have robbed a car since the employee wasn’t even paying attention of what I was doing (btw the tour I did with the Audi while your employee was telling me: « just pick a car and go to the office they will help you » was very fun). 1. Impossible to understand where is the entrance 2. It looks like an abandoned parking 3. They close without informing you and let you come with a booking to tell you « sorry we cannot give you a car ou manager left » 4. Their employees lie, they told me they couldn’t give me a car because the manager has the key to open the parking door, 10min later I see them opening it. 4. Employee tried to intimidate me by coming closer to me and start to be agressive, which didn’t work of course. To conclude, don’t go there

Terrible! There was no way I could find the shuttle to the rental location; the person who answered my call at Payless didn’t know anything and was very confused - after too much frustration, I decided to rent with Avis at the airport and to my surprise it was much cheaper and easier

In their online listing the agency claimed to be in the terminal at Toronto airport but in fact we had to find our way with poor signage to an airport train that took us to a shuttle pickup which in turn took us to the offsite agency location. The second problem arose at checkin when we were surprised to learn there was a $17 per day fee for a spouse to be a second driver. Both the off-site location and the second driver fee should have had prominent mention in the Expedia listing.

They haven’t mentioned about not renting car to G2 license drivers anywhere while booking. When I visited the place they simply said to walk away as i am G2 driver. It was a waste of time, it would have been good if they mentioned about this while booking online.

They did not honor the details of my reservation. In spite of my reservation clearly stating a limit of 4K KM, they charged me per km after 200km. When challenged, they gave no reason. Furthermore, be warned: it took over an hour to walk quickly through the airport, take a train, then take a shuttle to the car rental counter. It would have been even longer if I had to pick up bags.

Was a good car, they didn't clean it before giving it to me, and when I went to return it the found "new damage" on the car, which wasn't obtained during my rental time, and now charged me 1500 to fix it. Wouldn't rent from there again.

Pick up location was the only one available at Terminal Billy Bishop though I would have liked it to be in the city. "Change Engine Oil" sign was lit at pick up. Rates could have been better. Overall the car was clean, performing and comfortable. Up to my expectations. The drop off experience was excellent and very convenient.

When we came to pick up the car, no cars were available even though we had recieved confirmation on our booking. The people working there said they had been «too busy» to call us and let us know. I will never use this company again.

Excellent vehicle, great experience, so expensive. Appreciate being able to drop off in another city but an equivalent vehicle with similar mileage is available for more time from Turo for half the price

Literally did not have a contact number online for this place… showed up to the address and it was called Zoom car rentals instead of Mex. One person working and horrible lineups. All in all not worth the little savings you get.
