Renting a car in the Grand Canyon region is by far the most convenient means of exploring the area. There are no commercial flights to the area, and public transportation is only available via shuttle rides, which require you to adhere to their schedules. Driving car rentals in the Grand Canyon region offers faster interstate highways and scenic state roads. Highways are great if you're in a hurry, but state roads offer picturesque views of the Grand Canyon. The speed limit on interstates in the area is 55 or 65 mph in major cities. Arizona roads also have travel circles and roundabouts in smaller town centers and cities. The Grand Canyon region does not have any highway tolls or toll roads. When driving car rentals at the Grand Canyon, stay on Interstate 10, as it runs east to west across the state and through most areas of the Grand Canyon region. Major highways have high occupancy vehicles lanes for cars with two or more passengers, including the driver. However, there are restrictions on certain hours when using these roads, and breaking the rules can lead to steep fines.
To obtain car rentals in the Grand Canyon region, customers must be at least twenty one years old. Some car rental companies may also restrict the type of car you can acquire if you are under twenty five, and you may also have to pay an extra daily fee if you are under twenty five. Renters must provide a valid government-issued driver’s license with their photo and proof of their age.
