We arrived late for our reservation because our flight was delayed several times. We walked in, gave the man my license and he almost immediately told me he didn’t have the car i reserved because I was late and they gave it away. He made no effort to accommodate a situation that was beyond my control and said there was nothing he could do. He then proceeded to make a phone call to his “friend” Sakura who said he would pick us up and rent us a car. The whole situation felt sketchy and unsafe and we walked down the street to SIXT, where we received excellent service. I have rented a car from this Ace location In the past and it was a good experience, but I will never rent from here again!!!Reviewed May 20 2024

It was horrible. ACE sent me an email with the rental price without insurance. I didn’t add it because they accepted my personal insurance previously. When I got to the counter they denied my insurance and charged me their severely raised insurance rates which came out to be more that the cost of the booking itself without insurance. So my rental was over double the price. I will never rent from them again. I was scammed by ACE car rental company.Reviewed May 19 2024

Thank you for the opportunity to respond. 1. The car agency was closed when we arrived in LA, without any instructions to go to ACE. 2. We had to locate another agency to obtain a vehicle and exit the airport. Terrible experience and to know that they are NOT even aware that the vehicle was never picked up. Was not able to pick up the car. Because we are local residents and did not have the required paperwork needed. Associate that helped us was rude and not helpful. He was also on his personal phone while he was with us. He said something and I didn’t understand so I asked him to repeat himself and he just pointed to his ear. I arrived 30 minutes early for my reservation and the line was ridiculously long. It took over an hour and fifteen to just talk to someone. I elected to purchase the collision coverage online, only to get there and be told that I also needed to purchase minimum coverage for $30 per day. An additional $150 on top of what I paid online. I budgeted $275 for the rental car to get there and be told that it will be over 50% more expensive!?!? So ridiculous, especially when I am standing in a city with no other options to rent a car at that point. 30 minutes after talking with someone I was given a vehicle with substantial scratches, dents, damage, and a half a tank of gas. This was the worst rental car experience I have ever had. I would NEVER use this rental service again. I feel like I was screwed over and when you are there, have been waiting and have no other options, you just have to pay the extra money for the damaged vehicle and move on. My flight in was delayed by 4.5 hours. On arrival at the counter, the agent said my reservation has been terminated after not picking up the car within 4 hours of expected time. A car was offered then at a much higher rate. I rebooked at a lower rate thru kayak for immediate pickup. The agent then said it may take over 45 minutes for the new kayak booking to show up in the system, and to wait. After waiting 45 minutes, the agent then said they have no cars available and would not honor either kayak booking. Not a very pleasant way to start the trip, and staff didn't seem sympathetic or interested in finding other solutions. Getting to Ace from the LAX Airport is a bit challenging as you have to take a bus that then takes you to another location where the Ace Shuttle will pick you up and take you to the rental car center. Once you get to the rental car center, this is the second time I’ve rented with this company and the lines are soooo incredibly long. Agents are virtual, so you’re talking to them on a screen. For some reason, it seemed like it took each agent 10-15+ minutes if not longer to get the renter on their way & with long lines, just imagine how long you’ll be standing there. The rental itself was nice and clean. Beware, if you have an early morning flight (as I did) you will be charged $37.00 to drop your car off at a nearby parking lot. They do offer a shuttle service which was nice, but just know Ace will charge as you cannot drop your car off after hours.Reviewed Apr 22 2024
